SVN URL to Clipboard: Request for help

Post by iMattUK »

Hi,

I'm a newly registered XYPlorer user but it is growing on me rapidly. My employer refused to pay the license fee (even the £18 one!) so I bought a lifetime license myself.

One feature I would love to be able to get in XYPlorer would be the Subversion URL that corresponds to a local file on my hard drive. For example, the typical use case is as follows:

- I need to get the SVN repository URL for a file
- I navigate in XYPlorer to my local check-out of that file
- I right click and view Properties
- I select the TortoiseSVN tab
- The URL is highlighted so I can hit Ctrl-C and paste it into my email or document

Contrast this with the [To Clipboard -> Item Path/Name(s)] context menu, which allows me to get the path to a local file on my hard drive with a single keyboard shortcut (Ctrl-P), and you'll see what I'm aiming for here: a single keystroke (e.g. Ctrl-U) to get the SVN URL for a file.

Some extra information:

- I have searched the forum but couldn't find anything on how to do this specifically
- The post http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... t=svn+info is similar, but wasn't enough for me to work out what I need to do to add this feature
- I experimented with the command line and found that the command "svn info <file>" gives the URL but it's embedded in a load of other text; I can't find a way to make SVN give me just the URL

If someone can point me in the right direction so that I can add this feature (or use someone else's method), I'd be very grateful.

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Hi and Welcome to XYplorer,
I dont use SVN so i cannot help much on that aspect. But you mentioned that you use the command "svn info <file>", where and how do you use it in XYplorer?
I am asking this because, if its garbled with other text there might be a way in XYplorer (using scripts) to extract the URL alone.
