Save all settings -> mouse cursor

Post by Pagat »

Hi,

minor wish from my side:

i use "Save all settings" a lot and for me it takes ~2-3 seconds to be finished. I think a little visual feedback that XY is busy saving the settings would be good. Maybe the cursor should change into an hourglass instead staying the default cursor?

2-3 seconds? Which part takes so long? tag.dat?

ah, now i see what the problem is: at work i'm running XY from a network drive and writing onto that drive is the bottleneck. Saving all settings on a local disk is done instantly.

(catalog.dat and udc.dat take the longest time in my setup)

Consider the topic closed, it wasn't a big deal anyway...

Too late!

Code: Select all

    * Save Settings operation now with hourglass cursor and Statusbar
      message.
I like it. The hourglass somehow implies real disk action, so it feels good at that point.
