RETAINING THE DATES IN A FILE COPY

Post by mods135 »

I tried using backup to copy folders and files from one location to another, but different to the claims about preserving the original dates ( creation date, modified date etc) XY copied the files over and changed all the creation dates to todays date!! Am I doing something wrong? I need the creation dates to be preserved.
Incidentally, I am copying from a windows 98 PC over a network into a XP PC.

I tested this right now and all works as claimed.

There might be rights problem on the other end of the network. File dates have to be touched after each copy -- this might operation might have failed.
