Replace standard 'open a file..' dialog boxes

Those can be so useless at times.
Or someone can point me to another utility that already replace standard file open dialogs ?

I've looked for one myself and really haven't found anything exactly like I wanted but did locate File Menu Tools at http://www.lopesoft.com/en/index.html that seems to do enough of what I wanted, plus adding helpful options to Win Expl for those times when I have to resort to it.

I try my best! I'm not an expert at all areas of XY (like scripting) but have seen thousands of posts here over my 3+ yrs so have some ideas of where to find things.
