1. In windows explorer when you click to the right of the screen and drag the mouse you can select files, in XY when you click to the right it only selects a file. I would like to be able to click on a empty space and be-able to drag select files.(old habbits ) in XY click dragging works in empty space but not where there are files/folder .
2. option to show system context menu when right clicking on empty space
3. option to show recycle bin in folder tree
4. I don't know if this is possible but hide system folders (but still be able to see system files), right now it can only hide system folders/files.
5. change XY icon
6. add a option to close locked file handles for stubborn files that wont delete, there are programs that can do this like "unlocker", process explorer, who lock me...etc) but some aren't 64bit compatible, would be nice to have this built into the program.
7. not sure if i can do this already, but add a "refresh" option to context menus.

8. option to show ntfs ADS files (alternative data streams) (http://www.heysoft.de/nt/ntfs-ads.htm), there are very few programs who know of this and even fewer to show the files., and it seems m$ uses them often (for example zones) ADS can take up precious hdd space, and users never even know of it .

9. optional but could be useful, show size of MFT, USN Journal, Log file ..etc, option to remove the USN journal (used for windows file indexing, take up hddspace, this can be done running FSUTIL USN DELETEJOURNAL /D "your drive letter").

looking at the "XYplorer Roadmap" it says something about full unicode support, can you give more details on this (since i use files with japanese characters, just want to make sure that as it is now it wont corrupt the file names or anything.)

this is a big list but its in the intrest to make XY a better program for all .

Some of your items have been addressed before in threads unique to that point, so it would be to benefit of all to locate those when possible and continue the discussion therein.

For example, item 3 (Recycle Bin) was easily found in this thread that had recent updates: http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=251

And item 8 (ADS) had this thread: http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2091

Plus...undo/redo is already on the roadmap, so not much more we can do with that one at the moment.

I don't want to discourage new user enthusiasm, but...please attempt to look at it from our point of view also, if possible, ok? Thanks!

yea i already knew it was on the roadmap, but if more people request it maybe it will get more priority, same with the other features, maybe setting up a poll option in the roadmap is a good way to go so people can select the most wanted features?

isnt bringing up old threads looked down upon?

as for the recycle bin, it shouldnt be hard to implement in that thread you pointed out it seemed he had a hard time with it, you just need to hardcode a shortcut (GUID?) to the recycle bin (try it drag the recycle bin to your start menu root and you can access it like it was a folder.)

Others may have somewhat different opinions, but it's my view that having less threads makes them easier to locate in future, and while bringing up a thread from (for example) 2005/6 may be unusual, if that was the only time it was discussed and not since then, I'd rather continue it there so we can see what was already written, ok?

We're not your typical web forum, as you may gather if you spend time here, so some of the "normal" rules are not always followed here.

I agree that having some way to vote on which roadmap item has more interest could be helpful, but we also have to consider what Don feels he wants to do when, which may not be the same.
