freezing momentarily

Post by pixelman »

I'm having a weird issue with Tracker...

Sometimes when opening it up, or doing minor file operations, or right after viewing/changing the settings, or clicking folders quickly, or even doing nothing at all except going to another program, then back to Tracker, it's freezing up (non responsive) for a few seconds. If I click on it's taskbar button 2 times (minimize, restore) then I can move the Tracker window while it's frozen, but the top part turns white, and I get a hourglass cursor, and can't click on anything inside of Tracker.

(btw, if I don't minimize/restore it while it's frozen, then I can't move its window.)

After about 10 seconds or so, it comes back to life, and works fine until I do something else (listed above). Even tabbing back and forth between Firefox and Tracker while writing this post, each time I went back to it, Tracker was "frozen" again.

I even tried getting the latest beta, but it's no different. And it's not consistent... most of the time it does this freezing, but sometimes it doesn't.

Here's the white I'm talking about: http://avp.serveftp.org/cs/TrackerV3_v4 ... eezing.png

hi pixelman,

I got no idea what could be the reason for this behavior, and since you say it's not consistent it's hard to develop any hypothesis.

Thanks Don. If I come up with any more info I'll post in this thread.

experienced slow responding T3 too, turns out it was VShield causing it. Maybe an option.
