Avatar please!

Post by admsupport »

Hi, I am a new comer on the forum.
Q: why is the avatar function disabled? I find it a good visual help in long threads where several users posts/answers

I've seen you posts to a nbr of threads so will use this one to say: Hi and welcome to the XY forums!

Now, as a very freq poster here, I'll say that the reason we don't use avatars (and/or any more than a minimal sig area) is to save the extra vertical space that they require...we can thus see more posts in same screen space, which is (IMHO) more valuable than an avatar....they also are somewhat of a distraction from the clean look of forum.

We tried it for a few days once and the consensus was to go back to no avatars, ok?
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

Yep, true. Apart from the obvious fact that XYplorer is a surreal and totally artsy software project, I'd like the forum to look a little different than my city in carnival season.
