How to get new tab created after click on new folder

Post by vdongen »

How to make it possible that each time I click on another folder, a new tab is opened.

If not, is it possible that a new tab is opened using the defined categories?

1. Hold SHIFT while you click.

2. I don't understand the question... :?

Pitty I neded to use Shift.

With categories, I mean the Categroeires and Items you can creae within XY.

Wish clicking on an item will open a new tab.

Ah. It's the same: hold SHIFT.

Why do you say "pity"? Would you prefer to always open a new tab by default? That would lead to a lot of tabs...

Well, it depends. In most cases I have to be at the same folder. Hence I have created many shortcuts via a category item or a shortcut from my Windows sidebar.

Browsing through folders is the last I want so I made it convenience by using shortcuts.

In that case I mostly arrive at the destination I want, so no more folder browsing (and many opened tabs).

But I agree, this will create many tabs indeed for many of us.

Did you try the new Mini Tree approach? Depending on your specific needs it might be an alternative.

What kind of tree is this, and where can I find its settings?

Get version 7.90 and check out the help file.

First have a look here: http://www.xyplorer.com/tour/index.php?page=minitree

For what it worth: instead of SHIF+click, click a folder with the middle mouse button > it opens in a new tab

Edit: it is irrelevant since it only works for the folders in the tree pane... sorry.
