Use Gemini and upload the XYplorer.ini file and explain the problem.
I have the 32-bit version and the folders were loading 4 seconds or more.
I uploaded the contents of the XYplorer.ini file at Gemini
https://gemini.google.com/app
I explained what the issue was and Gemini came back with solutions.
XYplorer open: Tools> Open Configuration File
It said it was the K and L usb drives that were causing XYplorer to spend time looking for them.
They were hidden drives.
The fix for me was to delete the drives in the Device Manager after View> Show hidden devices then delete the semi transparent ones under 3 different headings.
Also to delete the listing in the registry. Also to make sure my Bitdefender was set to make an exception for the app.
After a restart I could open any folder under 2 seconds.
I have pc from July 2015 with an i5 and 32GB of ram.
Windows remembers what devices you plugged in and that can be a problem.
Ghost drives found:
Disk drives
4 devices removed
Portable Devices
7 devices - uninstalled 5 leaving two that I use but were not plugged in.
Storage volumes
5 Volume's removed
