Preview Pane Zip Files Details View

Hi: 2nd update -- With a bit more digging I found that using portable version 27.00.0700 the default view of the preview window is details. When I use portable version 28 the default view is medium icons. I still don't know how to "fix" this but I now know it was me updating to the newer version that caused my problem.

(Updated to include I am using Portable version 28.30.1200) Up until recently when I clicked on a zip file the preview pane on the far right would show the contents of the zip file in details view. Not sure what I changed but the preview pane default view has changed to medium icons. How do i set the default to details view?

Right click inside preview panel and select whatever View you want.

Hi Eil: Thanks for the reply!! I know I can do that to change the current view but I want a solution so that the default view is detail.

Just a guess: since i noticed right-click menu on Preview panel is a system one(not XY own) - maybe your change of "default" view is connected to default view set in Explorer.

Hi Eil: I believe something was changed in XYPlorer, Ver 27 defaults to Detail View while Ver 28 defaults to icons.

The crucial difference here is not the version but the bitness. Looks like the 64-bit ZIP preview handler defaults to Medium Icons view. I don't know if that can be changed anywhere.

Hi Admin: Good catch!!! I didn't even think about moving from 32 bit to 64. Thanks for looking into this
