I work with audio files, I have set autoplay to true, I find that setting very useful (Preview>Preview>Audio/Video - Play Once)
However if the entire file is played, I believe there should be an option to 'close' the file preview, programs that write onto it say it's in use.
This means everytime I need to rewrite it, I need to select another audio or file. I hope you talented developers consider this!

Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.
When attaching an Image, please use the Attachment tab at the bottom of your post and click "Add files".

Re: Close audio file once it's done autoplaying
Makes sense. For a quick solution I could offer to fully close the preview after the playing is done, just as if you unselected the file. That means you would not see the controls in the Preview tab anymore (progress bar, media buttons, meta data). Would that work for you?

Absolutely, I personally don't use the whole preview panel / tab, I just click on the audio to hear it (for example to go through drum samples), and would like to signal the system that the file can be rewrittenadmin wrote: ↑05 Jul 2026 11:21 Makes sense. Okay, check out the release notes of the next beta (pretty soon).
It will be a "tweak" for now. Here's how to tweak:

IMHO the tweak naming "AutoClose" may cause some misunderstanding in future = smth more precise would suit better.(like "ReleaseFileAfterPreview")

Re: Close audio file once it's done autoplaying
It's only the name of the INI key. There will be a setting later. There is also a chance that I find a way to release the file without removing the preview interface, which would be the best solution. No tweak or setting necessary.
