Re: PaperFolder allow .pf extension
I also use Paper folders a lot.
They are all inside of the tree C:\Tools\XYplorer\Data\Paper\
in my portable XY.
So there is no problem to identify them.

Re: PaperFolder allow .pf extension
I'd develop this idea into "PaperFolders can be Not Only TXT" = any extension could work and XY retracts only lines that can be used for PF visualisation in List.

Re: PaperFolder allow .pf extension
That sounds strange to me.
Paper folders are just links to any type of files or dirs.
Why should such links be merged into anything other than text files, regardless of their extension.

Re: PaperFolder allow .pf extension
Well, since you asked:
1. This would allow users to use any/no extension (while it's still may be a pure TXT by structure) providing a "dedicated extension" for user's customization;
2. PFs aren't merely "links to files or dirs" - say scripts can be directly inserted = so it's already "not That simple";
3. Any/No extension would require some "import" mechanism, that would peek "only PF recognized stuff", which would allow my long ago wish to have comments inside PFs.
But all in all it' up to Don, i just shared IMHO about initial wish.

Re: PaperFolder allow .pf extension
To me, extensions mainly serve as a marker for file format rather than file usage. It's an important message that paper folders files are simple TXT files.
