When I tried to move a file via drag and drop (right drag) and choose the option in the dialog to "Move but keep both files", Xyplorer closed. The target folder had the same file (name) but an older version. It happened late last night and didn't report it until I repeated the same operation this morning and failed the same way. The move last night was right cliick drag of a file from the list panel to a tab. This morning I dragged a file from one folder in pane 1 to another in pane 2 .
EDIT: The move does actually happen and the file in the target gets a (2) at the end of the name (e.g., Guest_me9091247 (2).pdf) as it should but XYplorer.exe closes.

"Move but keep both files"? You need to increase verbal precision to be understood.

I think klownboy means that he's moving a file to a location that already has a file with the same file name and wants to keep both. And he's getting the "name collision" dialog. But I noticed there is no "move and keep both files" in the dialog that comes up when using Custom Copy. So perhaps he's getting the windows dialog and not XYcopy.

Sorry Don, but that's exactly what the dialog box says. I take it it's not yours, but Windows. It is "Move, but keep both files".

@ phred
Maybe.
Here's a message to everyone reporting such things: If there's a bug in file operations I need to know at least the basics: Custom Copy or Shell Copy, foreground or background, drag and drop or clipboard or script or what, how many files, repeatable, and screenshots if they clarify stuff. I don't have the time for guessing or extended interviews. I need a report, not a sigh.

It's repeatable and happens on a single file. Other conditions were stated in the first post.
