27.00.06 fails previewing video from Pixel 9 phone

Running 27.00.06 in Windows 11.
If I open XY on a folder containing videos from a Pixel 9 phone, it hangs.
Specifically, XY becomes non-responsive with the cursor/hourglass, and this dialog appears.
Switch To and Retry do nothing, and Cancel is unavailable.
This dialog appears with any attempted interaction with XY.
I am unable to use XY again until I kill it's process.
I am able to access and play the Pixel 9 video from Windows Explorer.
XY works fine with video files from a Pixel 7 phone.

No, the file was copied from the Pixel 9 in a file explorer window to the C drive. Then I looked at that folder on the C-drive with XY.
I thought it might be related to the phone, so I even tried ejecting and disconnecting the phone after the file was copied, but still XY hangs when opening the folder.

Weird. How many files do you have in that folder?

There are about 20 files in the folder. I copied from the Phone to the computer's local drive. The phone is no longer connected.
Now when I highlight a video file, XY becomes locked up and unusable with an hourglass cursor and the "other application" error.
Can I just disable video preview until the root cause can be fixed?
I can upload one of the video files if anyone would like to look at them.
I have to kill XY in Process Explorer.

Disable .mp4 in the Video files section?
Upload such a non-working file...

I use imgur or postimages.org for graphics, but where do I upload an Video to?

I don't see XY v27.00.0600 hanging when selecting the file while the preview pane is open.
It won't play it with the old media control applet in the preview pane though, as long as not a recent? version of K-Lite Codec Pack is installed...

@highland, thanks for checking.
I'm unfamiliar with "old media control applet" and " K-Lite Codec Pack ".
Is there any post or article I could refer to to understand what needs to be changed or installed in XY to make the preview work correctly?

I have the x64 XY and the K-Lite Standard Codec pack.
This mp4 video plays fine without any hangs
in XY and many other file managers.
