Drag and Drop from different monitor throws error
When I try to drag pages from my PDF editor from screen 1 into XYplorer on screen 2, XYplorer throws an error message. If I do it with both program windows on the same monitor it works fine. This bug seems to be new with 27.00.0400 or at least a recent version, because I do this often and have not gotten errors in the past.
Let me know if you need further info. Screenshot attached.
I absolutely love your program, I have used it for more than 10 years, and I can't imagine living without it. Thank you!

Re: Drag and Drop from different monitor throws error
I'm not aware of any changes in this area. What was the last version that worked?

I'm not sure. Do you have a page where I can download older versions? I'll test it and let you know.

Re: Drag and Drop from different monitor throws error
Thanks.
The drag and drop works fine in 26.90. It throws an error in 27.00.
All I did was unzip and run the two versions. I did not make any config changes.

Which PDF editor is that, and which Windows version?

Re: Drag and Drop from different monitor throws error
Could you test if it still works with v26.90.0102 (viewtopic.php?p=227653#p227653)? I suspect that v26.90.0104 introduced the issue:
Code: Select all
v26.90.0104 - 2025-02-22 12:22
+ MP3 Preview: If the Preview Pane (Ctrl+F11) is visible, any available album art will
now be displayed in the Preview Pane while the MP3 is playing.
! Drag and Drop from outside: Did not handle FileContents dropped as ISTREAM correctly
in all contexts. Fixed.

Re: Drag and Drop from different monitor throws error
I tried it with v26.90.0104 and it still throws the error.
But I went back several versions and they are all throwing the error. Even 26.90.0300 is throwing the error now (but it wasn't earlier today). I'm not sure what has changed.
I can still drag and drop the page from the pdf into Windows Explorer and it works fine.
I can drag and drop into XYplorer ONLY if it on the same screen as my PDF application window.

Re: Drag and Drop from different monitor throws error
I just upgraded to 27.00.0500 and drag and drop worked. But then when I closed and reopened the PDF program, it stopped working and went back to giving the error message. I closed and reopened XYplorer, but that didn't fix it.
Maybe this will help diagnose the problem.

Hm, that's a weird one.
