:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Search for UTF8-file content including words with German umlauts fail

Post by roemer_m »

Steps to reproduce on latest version 26.30.0100:
1. Create and save some UTF8-encoded textfiles including umlauts like "Mit freundlichen Grüßen"
2. Use Find Files by Contents: "Grüßen" Mode: Normal or Whole Words Type: Text or Text and Binary => result is: no such file found
3. Use Find Files by Contents: "Mit freundlichen" Mode: Normal or Whole Words Type: Text or Text and Binary => result is: file found

Confirmed!

1) The problem is just the ß character, whereas German umlauts work.
2) Fixed in the next beta, but note that this has to be ticked if the scanned files have no UTF8-BOM: Configuration | Preview | Preview | Text preview | UTF-8 auto-detection.
