When you drop an object (specifically, an email message) onto Explorer, any invalid characters in the name (slash, colon, etc) are replaced with spaces. With XYplorer, special characters are removed.
I'd like an option to replace special characters with spaces, as this would ensure that I'm compatible with my colleagues when we drop emails into our shared drive.
It may only be emails this applies to (I've not needed it for anything else, certainly) so maybe just having a modifier for the <subject> template for emails would be sufficient (it would do for my needs).
Paul.

Re: An option to replace invalid chatracters with spaces
I would love to alter this behavior but I don't know how! It's not me that removes the chars. I retrieve the string with the chars already magically removed.
I also noted that in (my) Explorer the invalid chars are replaced by "_". What software are your colleagues using that their chars are replaced by spaces?
EDIT: ah no, I can do it!!
All good...
