Detail View: Return to same location when moving between folders

Post by pesto126 »

Hi.. figured there must be a way to do this but I cannot easily locate it in software or the forums...

I am using a detail view to show a list of folders.

If I type "Dun" and it shows me and highlights a list of folders that start with DUN... (perfect!).
I then navigate into the first folder and view the contents...
I then click into the breadcrumb to go back to the main folder - but the sort jumps to the top... I was hoping it would take me back tot he DUN list.
If I click the Back Button, then I do get back to the DUN list (great!) but the list is no longer highlighted.

So, is there an option to allow the Breadcrumb click to take me back to the DUN list like the back button does? Is there an option to keep the previously highlighted items highlighted upon return from a folder dive?

Thx for this awesome software!!!

Thanks! :D

You are probably using the conventional Type Ahead Find, right? Try using the Live Filter instead and make sure these two are checked:

Configuration | Find and Filter | Filters & Type Ahead Find | Live Filter Box | Persistent Live Filters
Configuration | Find and Filter | Filters & Type Ahead Find | Type Ahead Find | Redirect typing to Live Filter Box

You can then type into the list as you would with Type Ahead Find, but the list will be filtered by the Live Filter. More power and persistence.

Thank you.. yes... the Live Filter does indeed work better and allows the breadcrumb to maintain the result list. Appreciated!
