change display folder name in tab (display user-defined name instead of real name)

Post by xen »

hi ,
i have google drive sync folder like this
G:\.shortcut-targets-by-id\1-Lq6-mKsxuEtEMvOu0bp7nn1D\
and i want this: when go to that folder, xyplorer will display in tab title -a user-defined string , for example "alias700" - instead of display real name of folder
is it available in xyplorer yet ?
i searched and i see some old posts that cannot solve this issue viewtopic.php?t=2322
Thanks

There is no easy way to "virtually change name of location", but you can lock tab for that particular location and rename tab to whatever name you wish.
Though, including CEA functionality and scripting, i guess you can make a script that reacts on location change(checks if current location is that one you mention), and automatically changes tab name. Yet this script will have to check if location changed to somewhere else, to make tab name back to normal. IMO to much fuss for one "visual name" change, i'd go with tab lock+rename variant, but it's up to you.
