:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Not responsive listing a sorted directory with 50,000+ files

Post by immorality »

I have a directory with 50,000+ files that I sort by 'last modified' and keep open in a locked tab and regularly need to browse and interact with

When browsing to this directory XYplorer hangs on 'sorting' and becomes unresponsive for a minute or so and then becomes available again

This only started happening recently, historically I had no issues with this directory and the large number of files.. it always loaded instantly

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling from scratch but the issue persists

I'm on version 24.20.0500

Any suggestions?

If it really started recently, get prior versions in the beta thread and find the one where it started to happen

viewforum.php?f=1

Get major versions first and once you found the last one that works as expected, get beta versions in between that and the current one to make the bug hunting more efficient
