Why only wav files on new sounds events feature?

Why only wav files on new sounds events feature?

Excellent idea to have added sound to the events, but why only use wav files?

These files are heavier in KB or MB than mp3 or aac files; In addition, these are more popular and easier to find online or use the ones from our library.

It's phase one of a wonderful new feature. I'm sure other formats will be added soon... :)
