1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

XYplorer and IDM's Open Folder option

Post by 1024mb »

There is this problem when we click the Open Folder option when a download finishes using Internet Download Manager, first XYplorer catches the path and opens it and then an explorer window is opened. I thought about living with it but goddam it is annoying, that's the reason why I waited this long to inform about this.
I've sent IDM's dev an email about this because I thought it was a bug in IDM but, according to him, it's a XYplorer's side problem. Here is the email:
Hello,

You need to contact developers of this XYplorer. It seems they catch call of Microsoft function SHOpenFolderAndSelectItems:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... electitems

It it seems it returns wrong result. In Microsoft description:
If this function succeeds, it returns S_OK.
And S_OK here should be equal to zero.

And several seconds delay also must be connected with this catch of Microsoft function call.

Best regards,

Dave Saeger

I'm aware of it. Currently XY doesn't support SHOpenFolderAndSelectItems. I got it on my list.

Here's the update: It's not going to happen. (The amount of work required is insane; whoever designed this was out of their mind).
