Multiple selection in the List not working properly in 23.60.0009

In 23.60.0009, holding Ctrl and clicking multiple items in the List doesn't work reliably. Most times I can only get to about 2 items selected, and then further clicks on other files do nothing anymore. Same thing with holding Shift and trying to expand a selection. Something is very broken.

Trying to select 6 items in the List while holding the Ctrl key:

Same issue. I can get more than 2 selected, but still can't select all the files I click on.

When I asked you to try fresh; did you change any settings after startup?

It's broken here too in ::fresh; w/o any change in settings. Also, if I re-press Ctrl (Ctrl Up, Ctrl Down) before every next click, it works correctly but if I hold Ctrl, it gets bugged after a couple of clicks and starts skipping some items.

I can confirm that there are some problems using Ctrl clicks or Shift Clicks to select ranges.
Sometimes it works but often it doesn't do anything on the next Ctrl or shift click.
