Unable to check for updates

Tested with 23.20.0100

When I click Help > Online Support > Check for Updates,
XY shows me an error window:

Code: Select all

Check for Updates Failed

Could not reach https://www.xyplorer.com/version.php.

Version:
Error: Failed to open remote file.

Two additional notes:

1. I don't use any anti-virus, firewall or other security software.
2. The page https://www.xyplorer.com/version.php can be opened in the browser without any problems.

Not confirmed for 23.30.0100.

I guess, a manual update to that version will fix it.

The problem with manual updates is that I'm not sure which files are safe to move from one XY version to another.

It seems it will be safe to move tag.dat, for example, but I'm not sure about XYplorer.ini.

I've never used the automatic updates, what I do is:
1. Download the newest version (Installer package) from this forum (BETA versions) to my XY setup folder
2. Extract the Installer.exe from the archive
3. Run that "XYplorer_xx.xx_Install.exe" as admin (stop all running instances before you click next)
4. XY updates and shows you the results in the title bar
5. Restart XY (if you usually run it in non-admin mode)

Thanks to muscle memory this takes me maybe 30 sec and has very rarely failed me.
It replaces/updates all the necessary files only and leaves everything else alone.

No problems here to check for update.
I always use Help / Online Support / Check for updates.
I use this without and with control pressed.
Never missed any version with it and it never failed.

I use this for beta and full releases.
