Toolbar icons missing
I have a problem with the custom toolbar icons are missing. If I show small icons, I get a placeholder instead of the image. If I switch to large icons, then the image appears. Below is a screen shot. Any idea why this is occurring? It was working fine and then just started doing this. I've updated to the latest version and that didn't help.

Re: Toolbar icons missing
Where do those large icons come from? Are these Custom Toolbar Buttons?

Re: Toolbar icons missing
Yes, they are all custom toolbar buttons. Below is an example of the settings. The path is correct and the icon displays when showing large icons.

Re: Toolbar icons missing
So, what kind of icons are inside Icons.ico? Does it have a 16x16 one? (Though it should not really matter.)
Just send me that icon.

Re: Toolbar icons missing
Typically the icons have 16x16, 32x32, and 256x256 images. Some have more. I've attached two icons. I wasn't able to attach .ico files, so I renamed them to .jpg. You'll have to rename them back to .ico. By the way, this used to work and just suddenly stopped working. I have another account on the same computer and the icons show up just fine. I believe it's either a XYplorer or Windows setting that's causing this. I just can't figure out which. Thanks for your help.

Re: Toolbar icons missing
I figured out the problem. The .ico file type got associated to the photo viewer. so it was showing the photo viewer icon. I don't understand why XYplorer would show the photo viewer icon instead of the actual icon regardless of the program associated to the .ico extension in Windows. Large icons still worked, but small icons didn't. Seems like a bug to me. Anyway, I reset the .ico association in the control panel and the problem is fixed. I'm not sure how to get this sent to developers to consider fixing in a future release, but it would nice if it didn't do this.

Re: Toolbar icons missing
Also here ICO is associated to the photo viewer, but the toolbar works as it should. So I guess its a Windows bug. Which Windows version is that?

Re: Toolbar icons missing
I'm on Windows 10 Pro, build 19044.1586. When I looked at the .ico association, there were user actions defined. I think they were for open and print. When I removed them, the problem was fixed. That still left .ico associated to the photo viewer, but XYplorer worked again. I ended wiping the entire association and reassociating again in case I missed any leftovers. Still not sure how my association got messed up, but also think XYplorer has no need to look at the association in the registry to display the icon.

Re: Toolbar icons missing
I could fix it from here but it seems to be a very rare case and since you fixed it on your end and I'm not entirely sure about the side effects of my solution I'll leave things untouched for now.

If you're willing to try a fix, I'm willing to test it.

Re: Toolbar icons missing
I had a similar thing happen to me when installing a new version of ImageEye (as a Windows default graphics viewer). All my icons on my tabs were Irfanview's icon. I had to change Windows default to Irfanview and I ended up using a CFA to use ImageEye in XYplorer. I know I reported it but haven't been able to locate it.
Now everything seems to work with no issues without needing that CFA association for ImageEye (i.e., ImageEye is working in XYplorer Windows 11 using Windows default). Which I much prefer because when using a CFA, the files are not added to the recent files listing.

Re: Toolbar icons missing
No, I use large icons on the toolbar. Don't get me wrong, this was a while ago, and when my issue came up it was with "tab" icons all being the same. Possibly unrelated, but it did happen as a result of default graphics program change.

Re: Toolbar icons missing
The problem here is "Small Icons" only. As I said before, I won't do anything now.
