Strange thing, though -- with the problem I was seeing with extended characters (that only seemed to be solved by using the IZArc viewer), the problem also persists in the preview window (and, I would expect, WE -- I haven't disabled my file associations to find out).
This makes me suspect that the default system codepage must be coming into play here (as well as with the other ZIP viewers that exhibit this issue). Though that seems strange, since the zip file name (which has the same base name as the file inside the zip) shows up just fine in WE...
