maximize catalog and quite tree in one click?

Post by serendipity »

Code: Select all

Experimentally, you now can turn off that automatic syncing of the Tree via the new scripting command "AutoSyncTree"
This combined with a maximized catalog would be close to hiding the tree which some people have requested in past.
Was there a way to automaticaly maximize and restore catalog? like in the info panel?
It would be useful to have a toggle for maximized catalog and a quiet tree in one click or key. just wondering if others would find this useful too.

Sorry - I see it the other way: a hidden tree should be in sync - if I unhide it, it should be like never hidden.
If it's hidden (= not shown) and out of sync it's "off" (or however you name it) - and must be rebuilt (re-synchronized) when switched "on" again.
Other said: "off" is really off, while hidden means you just don't see it.

(This is my kind of view - is it correct?)

seems like it, if you consider sync as sync with filesystem changes
but IMHO in the case of AutoSyncTree it reffers to the tree jumping so the current open folder in the list is visible in tree view.

Edit:
or mabye i got you wrong with what you meant by re-building.

if its just about the tree jumping to the current location when you toggle AST on as opposed to refreshing the tree.
its the logical thing to do.

but theres no need to keep the costly tree jumping happening while the tree isn't visible, just do the last jump when you show the tree and turn AST on.

I agree that a hidden tree should not jump around but be re-synced when shown again. But currently we have no hidden tree in the strict sense, only a hidden nav panel (tree+catalog).

Catalog maximize command: well... a dbl-click on the separator does it and should be enough.
