Keys stopped working (i.e., F2, F5, DEL, to name a few ...)

This must be something simple but it's weird. Keyboard shortcuts don't seem to be working and I don't know what I did to stop them ... it was an accidental thing, that's for sure. So, i.e., F2 doesn't start process for renaming, F5 won't refresh, DEL won't delete. I even deleted the KS.dat file, I think it was, with custom keys but that didn't bring back the functionality.

What did I do, please, can anyone help? I've searched within the forum and via google online to XYplorer a few times in last 2 days but nothing has come up.
