:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

BUG: "Dark mode" color...

Post by ghost zero »

There is a "dark mode" color bug in which my "inactive pane" color of RGB=30,30,30 wrongly turns into RGB=31,31,31 when "dark mode" is enabled. You can see this by taking screenshots for comparison with the PRINT SCREEN key, then paste them into a graphics program like MS Paint, and then use the "color picker" tool to sample the colors. Please fix.

"Dark mode" shouldn't be changing any of our custom colors. It should maintain high fidelity custom colors, and only change the colors for other parts that we have no control over.

This might seem like a small bug to you. But imagine people designing a color scheme and they are sampling colors while in dark mode, not realizing that the colors are off, and then they reuse the same wrongly sampled colors for other parts--the problem multiplies. Heck, people like me even use and match their custom colors for dark themes across other programs, not just XYplorer. We shouldn't need to turn off "dark mode" before sampling colors to avoid this bug. Bugs like this shouldn't exist. Please fix it.

This is a feature. XY's dark mode is automatically converting colors form light to dark. You really don't know this?

But only with Adaptive colors checked (hint to OP ...), right?

At least, that's my experience because I'm using it (w/o seeing any "bugs" here) to get "exact" colors.

Adaptive colors just affects some particular colors with a signal or marker function, not background colors.

Why can't you just make "dark mode" leave our custom colors alone? It should maintain high fidelity custom colors, and only change the colors for other parts that we have no control over. Or please at least add an option for high fidelity custom colors in "dark mode".

No, I think it's good as it is.
