1. add the setting 'zoom smaller originals to fit preview area' to that orange button on the IP preview.
2. option to go to the location of the selected item(s) in find mode.
can probably be done via scripting, but i really suck at that.
2 things

i'm talking about video preview.j_c_hallgren wrote:Muroph wrote:1. add the setting 'zoom smaller originals to fit preview area' to that orange button on the IP preview. That's been there on mine for quite some time, as far as I know....what are you not seeing that I do?
sorry i forgot to mention.
i've never seen this.j_c_hallgren wrote:Muroph wrote:2. option to go to the location of the selected item(s) in find mode. can probably be done via scripting, but i really suck at that. When I'm looking at the results of a search, and I right-click on selected item, I get a choice of "Go to Focused item" among others, which can be done via KS also...how does this differ from your 'wish'? Can you explain?
i looked in the help file and didn't find anything.
what's the KS?

These are located in the "Go To" section of the "Miscellaneous" category within the CKS.Muroph wrote:i've never seen this.

And...I did some checking and found that if you've not set the "Custom items in shell context menu" in Advanced tab of Config, that you won't see these options...so check that option and see what you're missing!

These are located in the "Go To" section of the "Miscellaneous" category within the CKS.
but the default KS didn't work.
i had to change it to something else.
but i think i know why.
hmm...j_c_hallgren wrote:And...I did some checking and found that if you've not set the "Custom items in shell context menu" in Advanced tab of Config, that you won't see these options...so check that option and see what you're missing!
that's the reason.
i disabled the custom items after a few hours using xy.
i use the context menu quite a lot, and don't like those 3 items i never use taking space above the items i want to use.
so i'll change my wish to:
add an option or tweak to force on the context menu those items which only appear in find mode, even if custom items are disabled.
not really important tho.
i can use the KS.

I'm finding that I use those custom items for XY almost as often as the other built-in ones, so I guess everyone's different...these make access to those functions that make XY useful more convenient, but it does take a bit of getting used to it to get full benefit of these items.Muroph wrote:i disabled the custom items after a few hours using xy.j_c_hallgren wrote:so check that option and see what you're missing!

I seem to recall some discussion(s) before about a wish to be able to customize context menus...not sure what the status of that is.

i use some 'rename special' items a lot, but i have a KS set for those.j_c_hallgren wrote:I'm finding that I use those custom items for XY almost as often as the other built-in ones, so I guess everyone's different...these make access to those functions that make XY useful more convenient, but it does take a bit of getting used to it to get full benefit of these items.Muroph wrote:i disabled the custom items after a few hours using xy.j_c_hallgren wrote:so check that option and see what you're missing!

besides, all of the custom items can be found in the 'file' menu, so if i don't have a KS i just go there.
looks like the only items that can't be found anywhere except on the custom items are those i asked for.

I don't think it will happen, not as you described, since it would go against the idea of the option to either have XY's additional menus, or not.
That said, with custom context menu it could be possible. However, I'm not sure when/if such things will be added. What i can say, though, is that you could create yourself a script file that would popup a menu with those items, and trigger that menu with a KS, and soon a middle-click.
It would also have another advantage : such menus show up way faster than the shell context menu.

i was just used to windows explorer, which adds the go to selected item to the top of the menu when in find mode.jacky wrote:I don't think it will happen, not as you described, since it would go against the idea of the option to either have XY's additional menus, or not.
i thought about doing it via script, but, like i said b4, i relly suck at scripting.jacky wrote:That said, with custom context menu it could be possible.
