CorelDraw file icons not shown

Post by Gabardino »

Hi everybody,

I'm running XYplorer 21.80.005 on Windows 10 and noticed that all the CorelDraw file icons are not shown. A blank icon is shown instead of them, as shown on the picture attached.

Thanks in advance for any piece of advice.

And Windows Explorer shows them correctly?

Yes and another file manager shows them correctly too.

Type fresh; into the address bar and hit the enter key.

Does it work there? I've copied my XY (portable) installation into a VM with Corel Draw 2021 and it works fine there...

Double-click does open the files with CorelDraw?

Yes, no problem. I've just tried to unistall and then reinstall CorelDraw but nothing has changed.

Hm. Sounds lame but I'd say CorelDraw is not correctly installed. Seems like the icon association does not work for 32-bit processes. This would be something they have to fix.

It could be a bitness issue.
My CorelDraw icons show up properly but my version 7 of CorelDraw is old enough to have been created as a 32bit version only.

The strange thing is that I use XYplorer (portable version) and CorelDRAW both on my home notebook and on my office PC.
They both run Windows 10 but the situation is the following:

- home notebook: latest XYplorer version and CorelDRAW 2021 (x64) -> CorelDRAW icons are properly shown
- office PC: latest XYplorer version and CorelDRAW 2018 (x64) -> CorelDRAW icons are shown as blank

Aha. I would assume that CorelDRAW 2021 fixed some bug in CorelDRAW 2018. :) I guess it comes down to some difference in the registry. Probably easy to fix manually if you know how. (I don't out of my head.)
