Rgiht-click menu question

Post by pincopallino »

Greetings, new user here.
When I right-click on a file in a XYplorer tab, I get a customized menu instead of the classic Windows menu. I am a bit uncomfortable with that, because I have no longer access to "scan against viruses" function, which appears instead in the Windows right-click menu. Is there any way to get the Windows menu back, or to add the virus scan command to the XYplorer menu?
Thanks in advance.

hmm.. not sure that it's enabled by default, but it sounds like you have this option enabled, in Configuration - Advanced : Default items only in shell context menu

Simply turn it off to have the shell extensions loaded again.

I don't find such an option in the Advanced Configuration. I have

Custom items in shell context menu
Custom drag'n drop context menu

but turning off one or both doesn't change anything.

Hi and welcome to the XY forums!

Which vers of XY are you using? This may be why you're seeing something different than jacky and myself.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

Thank you for the welcome.
I am using XYplorer Free 5.55.0002 Downloaded and installed very recently, so I guess it should be the latest.

Yes, while the free vers is a very nice 'appetizer', one can only get the full 'meal' via a current vers, as there have been hundreds of little (and some major) changes since that vers was released... :)

We power users even have trouble keeping up with the changes sometimes!
