When I hover over a PDF I don't get a preview. I get a message "Cannot decode". Any suggestions why I get this?

XY version?
Does the preview pane work for that pdf?
What does text get("previewhandler", "pdf"); show when it is executed from the address bar?

How do I access the preview pane you mention?

Menu - Window - Show Preview Pane

Try the checkmark for this:
Configuration | Other | Shell Integration | 64-bit Windows | Use 64-bit preview handlers for preview

I will think about installing PDF-XChange Viewer.

You can use Sumatra PDF as well (https://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/downlo ... iewer.html)
You need the installer of course...

When the installer window pops up, click on the "Options" button and check at least
[x] Let Windows show previews of PDF documents.

I use this one myself...

Hello, as in the FAQ it is said that PDF-XChange Viewer won’t show thumbnails anymore, I will try Sumatra but do I need to install 32 bits version ?

The 64-bit version works fine here

I use the newer SumatraPDF x64 version from
https://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/prerelease.html

It works nicely with Sumatra, thanks.
