Preview: Space to start/stop doesn't work if focus elsewhere

Post by j_c_hallgren »

I had started playing a huge WMV file, and all was fine...needed to pause it and hit space bar...nothing happened... :? So moved cursor to timebar and then left-click stopped it...began to wonder what was wrong...more confused..

Then happened to notice that I'd maybe hit Tab without noticing it such that focus was on tree instead of the file..and once I had tabbed back to List, then the space bar worked...if this behavior had me wondering for a few minutes, what may happen to a newbie?
So IF one is actively playing a file, should the focus affect space bar handling? I'm thinking it shouldn't based on above experience.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.
