Preview on F11 and Control F11 stopped working for several file types most importantly pdf.

This probably is not so much a bug but something needs adjusting.

It was working and then stopped for unknown reasons.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well XY uses the installed PDF preview handler, so did you recently uninstall a pdf reader or install an app that changed your default? to check if you have one installed use this command: text get("previewhandler", "pdf"); in the XY address bar, if you don't get a return then you'll need to install one, here are some recommendations:

Don't install Adobe PDF ! it will crash XY.

Yes, I had installed Adobe for some reason. I guess that caused the problem.

I reinstalled and managed to recover almost everything -- tags, catalog, etc.
I think the only thing not recovered was the tools-configuration settings.

Hmmm... you never mentioned missing settings, but anyway tags, catalog are stored in separate external files, and the config stuff is stored in your XYplorer.ini, so maybe you can find a copy of it somewhere? If you can't, in the future I recommend backing it up semi regularly, anyway good luck.

PS: Adobe software is the cause of most problems when installed.
