Scriptable Spot-like highlighting

Hey Don, can you open the spot highlighting function to scripting?
to let scripts highlight specific parts of specific list cells with specific colors.

You already have this syntax >>pdf|jpg|png|txt which you can apply in scripting using SC goto.

while on the topic, can you make some improvements to the spot syntax?
Right now, we can't combine multiple columns: >>pdf|ex1:bink, only colors the extra1 column, not name.
