Best practice in setting the right folder view mode

What is the best practice to have the right folders opened the right view. Basically I want all folder views in Details mode, except those that consists of pictures.
I use tabsets and manage to set the tabs in the right view, but how to set it for the sub folders that consists of both folders with just non-graphic files (-> Details mode) as well pictures (-> Tiles mode).

I assume setting need to be done in manually as many folders has mixed files. Is think what can be set is that all sub folders does get the same view mode as their parent folder?
