Hello, I accidentally lost some files, and then empty the trash, to avoid this please add the option to confirm deletion of files by clicking on [delete] button (toolbar)
Thanks.

Re: Delete button with pop-up dialog box
thanks, I think that these options should be by default, by right clicking on the delete button there is a message.
Supress Delete Confirmation Dialog
What does this mean?

Re: Delete button with pop-up dialog box
In Windows 8+ Explorer stopped having a delete confirmation dialog by default, so Don followed suit as a default I assume to keep the changes from Explorer minimal for new users on current OSs.
Suppress delete confirmation dialog
Check it to skip the confirmation prompt that usually precedes a deletion. Also controls the behavior
when you empty the Recycle Bin.
Note that unticking this option does NOT ensure the confirmation prompt! If the delete confirmation
prompt is turned off in the Windows system configuration then nothing will bring it back.

Re: Delete button with pop-up dialog box
XY is about common sense, which lacks to a great degree in Windows' own built-in tools, namely Explorer.
Whoever likes or uses WE would not be a very potential XY user nevertheless.
I use XY because it Is following common sense and not MS's rules or view.
Lately I got to know Don is using many built-in functionalities in Windows itself -for things I was thinking were custom-implemented in XY. Things like dialog boxes for name collisions when renaming directories etc. I don't know, maybe these are part of other, bigger elements or object he uses in the app.
That said I can't for the life of me realize how is that worked out as being a default now to remove the confirmation dialog box when deleting items in the computer..

Re: Delete button with pop-up dialog box
I always have the following checked and feel quite safe on any Windows (albeit sometimes/mostly getting safety questions both from XY and Win):
F9 > Menus, Mouse, Safety > Safety belts:
Show drag status box
Confirm drag and drop
Confirm delete operations
Delete on key up
Besides that, also:
F9 > File operations > Custom Copy Operations:
Use Custom Copy
For all copy operations
For all move operations
I am not seeing system dialog boxes for name collisions. But maybe I have not tried some particular rename situation (and I am mostly on Win7).
