When I try to do a double-click on a file, it seems to be slowing me down, and it acts as if I want to rename the file.
I think that I would like to turn this off, whatever it is.
Thanks in advance for the help

Extract it, run it, hover over one of those entries from that bar, make a screenshot, post it, hit ESC a couple of times to quit that little program...

Thank you very much for your help, HIGHEND.
Using that program, I found out that column is the left-most column of an Excel spreadsheet preview which appeared because I had a spreadsheet hightlighted.
I just went into Preview | Previewed Formats in Configuration and turned off previews for Excel files.
That did the trick....no more slight lag when double clicking.

Or you could just turn off the preview pane, Ctrl+F11
