Selection Filter from the Address Bar / Catalog

So we can perform searches and change the visual filter from the address bar and catalog, but is there a way to do the same with selection filters?

If not is there any reason this functionality couldn't and/or shouldn't be added?

If I hear the silence correctly, it sounds like this isn't possible.

I don't see the big advantage of this... but relax: when scripting comes this will be just another script (which you can run through the address bar).

I can't wait for this scripting!

Get out of the forums and code this wonderful feature!!

And it's mostly to use it with the Catalog so I can open a location and have the files I want to upload/backup already be selected so it's just a simple drag & drop or UDC.
