:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Previewing Outlook (.msg) files

Post by Sakis »

When selecting an Outlook (2007) .msg disk file, while being in preview mode, XY tries to ...download it.

Steps to reproduce:

- Drag and drop an email message from Outlook to disk
- Open XY Info Panel in preview mode
- Select the saved .msg file

When file is selected, the usual IE "File Download" message appears asking to download it. After pressing OK file simply opens in Outlook.

Btw .msg file type is selected in "Previewed Formats"

UPDATE: Hmm, seems that the same happens with all Office docs (doc, docx, xls, xlsx etc) including previous formats (xp, 2003). Maybe an incompatibility with Office 2007?

FYI: This has been discussed before more than once...the latest I could find (via search for all words 'download open') was at:
http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?t=1540
which has links to some other prior ones...
Take a look at this thread and then report back, ok?
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.
