How to specify non-default UDC-file?

is there a way to specify a specific UDC-file say in .lnk file for XY launch with it?
1-2 times per week i have my XY wiping out my udc and each time i have to restore it from archive, which became really irritating. as i can't find a pattern to reproduce this bug, nothing special happens before(like crash. or process manual termination), i hope there is some tip you can give me.

Try to use a symlink?

Edit: No, it seems this doesn't work. XY overwrites it with the real file...
