launch file in category window -> program hangs

I'm trying out XYplorer. If I open Show Catalog (F8), create a category, then drag a file to that category, such as a *.txt file or an *.eml file, then when I double click on that file in the category window to launch it, the program hangs.

It is not hanging. The file held in the category is there as a quick reference to access the file. If say the file is normally opened in a program then add the program .exe file to a category and drag the file onto it which will then automatically load the program and open the file.

Hi and welcome to the XY forums! I don't follow what you mean by "program hangs"...an entry in catalog is somewhat equivalant to a Favorite/Bookmark in a net browser, but clicking on it doesn't normally open it but rather points the list to that item...you can open the file via right-click contect menu from catalog, or set "open on click" in that items properties in catalog, and then it will open on next click.
