Search results to catalog

Post by jcmn »

Hi

I'm new in the forum althought I use XYPlorer since several months.

I would like to know if it is possible to save in the catalog the search results and how do I do it.

Thanks.

Depends. You can do it but it's probably not what you are thinking of. And it goes like this: have the search results tab open without any selections, then right-click catalog and selected "Insert as new category here / current list".

You cannot cache your search results (yet), but you can sure add them to your Catalog. Once you have them listed, simply right-cliock on Catalog and choose "Insert as New Cataegory Here|Current List"

Note that, if items are selected, it will not be there as instead you'll have "Insert as New Cataegory Here|Selected List Item(s)" which will, as its name says, only add the selected List item(s) and not the full List.

Yes

it does the job, but if the list is long it is quite difficult to find a particular item of the list in the catalog, while the list scrolling is also very slow.

This leads me to the question: is it possible to filter in the catalog?

Perhaps the better solution would be to keep the search results at a new tab that could be used from one session to the next. Is this also possible?

Of course, Ctrl+T will create a new tab containing the search results (a so-called "finding tab").

EDIT: when there's search results caching (planned!) you will be very happy with the so-called "finding tabs".

Catalog scrolling is slow? :? Not here...
