2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

After Moving Files I Get "Location Not Available . . . "

Post by Biggynuff »

So sorry if this has been discussed, I can't find it at all. It's probably something I'm doing wrong. I've had to re-install on a new laptop and got everything working great but this one is baffling me. I'm now on a Lenovo 64 bit Windows 10 machine.

After moving folders or files, either through dragging them onto the breadcrumb location or through 'move to new subfolder', I get a "Location Not Available . . . " message when I try to access either the new location (move to new subfolder) or the now moved folder. The move clearly works because in windows explorer I can see the moved folders straight away, but in XY I have to close the program then open it again. After that the moved files and folders are visible in the now available locations. Hope all that makes sense?

Is this just me?? (probably is!) but I didn't have any similar problems and it only just seems to have started to happen after update to 18.3. Any help appreciated.

Edit: This is really strange! If I move a folder to a new location (e.g. out of a subfolder) XY says the new location is unavailable. But . . . if I move it back to exactly where it was, XY is now happy and shows the contents of the folder. I've tried turning off AVG antivirus just in case but same issue.

Cannot repro.

Can you be more specific about the path names? Source, target...

Mmm . . . please forget this one Don, I'll keep investigating. I've tried a few things and it appears to happen only with files and subfolders created when I use 7zip. I'd not noticed that before. This is my system, not a bug with XY, I'm sure of that now.
