Problem: Bought another Win10 64 bit laptop...but this one has Win10 Creator Update.
Installed XYPLORER (and removed) several times and even installed the latest BETA and made sure NORTON was shut down at the time. All my attempts to use XYPlorer on my new laptop have same problem:
Locks up computer.
Everything seems to work fine inside XYPlorer, however when XYPlorer is operating the Windows taskbar at bottom of screen goes dead. It's visible, but clicking on it does nothing.
I can operate XYPlorer, e.g, click on a file and file opens in its native program, etc. However, if I want to manually open ANYTHING on my computer, I can't because clicking on anything does nothing. Windows key, nothing. Date/calendar key, nothing. Open programs, nothing. NONE of the keys that normally function DO if XYPlorer is turned on.
Weird, eh? I wrote Donald and he'd not seen this before ... he suggested I post the problem here. I have a competitor's product which I don't like as much. IT works fine on new laptop. Everything works fine on new laptop. But XYPlorer seems to lock up all other icons, shortcuts, whatever is outside of the program itself.
I've been using XYPlorer for about 10 years...on every computer I'd had, including Win10 64 bit. This makes no sense to me and all I can think of is: Could it be that danged Win 10 Creator Update? Because that is the one thing that is different from my other Win 10 computer.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Re: XYPlorer ON; laptop locks up (Win10 64bit w/Win10 Creator Update)
I think it has to be something other than the Windows 10 Creator's Update at least not solely. I'm using it on Windows 10 Pro x64 on a desktop with absolutely no issues and I'm using Norton as well. I do have all my long used programs and utilities exempted from scanning by Norton.
I'd also do some Google searches for program freezes with the Creator's Update? Have you installed all the latest monthly updates/fixes since the Creator's Update was released?

Thanks for the quick reply.
I see that folks are talking at MS forum about all kinds of issues with Edge (I don't use it) and some MS Mail issues.
Then, I see from searching, that there is a new Win Update (KB4022716) 15063.447 -- and I already see that folks are having issues with it....but the thing is, when I check my system and Update Diagnostics, it says that I have the newest (15063.413). I've run the diagnostic tool twice now and it keeps saying I have the newest. SO, I'm wondering if they released a new one (.447) and it made things worse so they stopped automatically issuing it??
My imagination working overtime....
What's so weird for me is that everything else runs just fine. But soon as I load up XYPlorer, I get the lockup. I may have to give up and use the competitors program on this machine...but I miss XYPlorer. I'm spoiled by it.
Thanks again for thinking about my problem and trying to help.

My OS build is 15063.413 and I checked for updates and it tells me that I have the latest. So 15063.447 may be an advance or fast track build not yet officially released and there may be good reasons for that. Have you run any system cleaners? CCleaner is the only one I trust and use. It is strange that XYplorer is the only program giving you a hard time. Have you tried running a fresh version? Get another portable install zipped download version of XY and put it in a temp folder and run it.
