Close Tree Path on Close Tab

Hi there,

fresh XYPlorer user here.
Is it possible to have XYplorer collapse the created path in the tree after closing a tab?
If i have like 10 tabs open and close them the whole tree is messy.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum

Open:
https://www.xyplorer.com/faq-topic.php?id=tweak

and then tweak these two settings (from 0 to 1)

Code: Select all

AutoOptimizeTree=1
AutoOptimizeTreeRadical=1

Hi highend,

thanks for the quick reply.
OptimizeTree I had on from the beginning, adding the Radical option makes it feel like every tab has its own tree.
I did however like the visual jump within the same tree. So it would be nice if the tree would just collapse the path that's being closed as a tab instead of closing all except the current tab..
Is this possible as well?

Mh, I don't see that behavior here. When I close one tab it's path is collapsed in the tree (if no other tab still exists that points to the same destination).
All other tab's paths aren't influenced by this...

Attached are two screenshots.

On the second you can see that the Desktop folder got collapsed even though the tab still exists (first).

? I don't get what should have been displayed and what not

When I have two tabs open
1: Desktop\tmp
2: Desktop\tmp

and Desktop contains "show me" as well and I close the second tab
than the Desktop\ won't collapse. It still shows .\tmp and .\show me

You must have misunderstood. One of the tmp folders is in Downloads and the other one in Desktop.

If I switch to the Downloads\tmp tab it closes the Desktop\tmp node, and the other way around...

Can you reproduce this behaviour?

Yep, same here. Don't know if Don would call this a bug or intended behavior. I'm using a locked mini tree. Only those paths show that I want it to show ;)

For now I disabled the Radical option, but it would be nice if there would be a third option if this behavior is intended.
Is it possible to notify Don about this thread using @someone or something like this?

That's not necessary. He will read this thread anyway...

It's intended behavior. That's why it's called "radical". :)

@admin In that case, could you add a third option please?

So how would you describe that third option?
