Short/truncated pathnames in the address bar

Hi all!

I haven't used the tree for a while, mainly becauase of this. There are special folders, like my user folder C:\Users\<username>\. In there, we have Desktop, Downloads and so on. Thing is: When I access these via tree, the address bar only shows the shortcut's name, which renders it unusable for copy/pasting.

Is there a way to let xyplorer always display the real path (green) in the address bar?

My XYP displays the full path in the address bar for the special folders - I can't tell you though which setting might be responsible for it.
I'm on Win 10 Home 1607 and have relocated my user folder to D:/Users/ if that might shed some light.

Right-click the path icon in the address bar and you will find a command to copy the full real path.

Now that's a nasty way of hiding things ;-) From now on I will right click on any icon on the screen, just to find hidden treasures

Any chance we get an option for that? IMHO the non-real path makes no sense at all.

It makes a lot of sense together with the tree. I think those shortened "special paths" were invented by MS to make the tree flatter in often used locations. If the address bar wouldn't play along with it the whole idea would break.

If that is the case then I'm asking why is my AB showing the full path?

True and even if I click on Downloads in the Links section at the top of the tree the tree focus jumps straight to the real location?!

Not if this is ticked: Configuration | Tree and List | Items in Tree and List | Show Downloads folder
