Show only specified filetypes w specified words in filename?

Post by frew »

Hello,

I have lots of wav audio files on my computer and I often want to use Tracker to search only within wav files for wav files whose names contain certain words or parts of words.

For example I may wish have Tracker show me all the wav files on my computer whose names contain "water".

You know on the regular windows find tool (F3) how you can for example, go to Drive C, hit F3, click advanced, then select "wave sound", then go back to name and location and type "water" for example, and it will show all .wav files in drive C whose name contains "water"...

Well I'm wondering how to do this with Tacker.

Other similar situations would be for example to be able to have Tracker search all of Drive C and show only jpg images for example whose names contain "blue"....etc....or to have Tracker show only mpeg files whose name contains "bird"... etc.

Thank you very much,

Frew

Hi,

use Boolean logic, for example search terms like:
water and *.wav
blue and *.jpg
bird and (*.mp3 or *.mpeg or *.mpg)
etc. ...

EDIT: see also here: http://www.trackerv3.com/ted/findfiles.htm

Thanks!

I just came to me that you can do the first 2 examples even simpler:
*water*.wav
*blue*.jpg
