repeat last executed command

Post by threedot »

I wrote rule to execute search & replace command to rename file names.

I am selecting particular files to apply the same rule in various locations.

I want to apply same rule using a shortcut easily.

I am repeating some context menu clicks to apply same rules current.

"Repeat Last Operation" will be good functionality.

For meditation, discussion & eventual immediate development:

Recent Files Operations - small wish

XY Macro Recording aka Scripting for the Newbies

There is a small something I posted/have read & agreed anywhere by which Recent File Ops could register more operations, like renames. A configurable 'how many ops to record?' could ease at least the step one towards a macro recording capability, for instance, when random files spread all around could be spotted and 1. be renamed by a pattern, 2. moved to a common folder, 3. reported and 4. have the updated list ready to be used anywhere.

Of course this can be scripted, but scripting is not the friendliest way any user could start from so they could start processing more operations in a single batch, saving time and etc - which is the aim of such a powerful program. In the other hand, even for a scripter an enhanced RFO functionality could mean precious time saving.
